Classic FM

After 12 years as a daily presenter on Classic FM, John decided to step down from hosting regular weekday shows and looks forward to hosting special programmes across the year.

He presented the final edition of The Classic FM Concert with John Suchet on Friday 1st July 2022.

“After 12 years presenting five radio programmes each week – live! – writing five composer biographies and hosting a 52-part podcast series about Beethoven – the biggest series dedicated to one composer – I have decided that it’s time to step away from the mic and have a rest. I have enjoyed every moment and want to thank the brilliant teams at Classic FM and Global for making my passion the most fantastic career. Most of all, I want to thank the listeners for all their loyalty and support. It has meant the world to me. It’s not goodbye though, as I will be back to host special programmes on Classic FM, so I look forward to joining you later this year!”

It’s all about sharing

In May 2020 John left the flagship morning show on Classic FM to take up his role as host of “The Classic FM Concert”.

John is a leading expert on classical music and loves sharing this passion with listeners. In particular he is delighted to be hosting the evening concerts which give him greater scope to explore whole pieces of music.

John is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Academy of Music.
